Community Groups Announce Web Solutions For All Generations
The League of Women Voters of the Space Coast and the Space Coast Chapter of the American Association of University Women are sponsoring a community-wide event to announce two web-based programs to benefit all Brevard County residents.
Both programs are designed to help families sort through the maze of public and private services and connect to information or programs that can improve the quality of their lives. The first program, the Whole Child Connection, was initially launched in 2009 for families, children and young adults and has benefited more than 10,000 Brevard County families since its inception. The latest program, the Whole Senior Connection, benefits older adults, the elderly and their caregivers.
“Our goal is to provide information and self-referral capability so that all Brevard County residents can proactively access information and services anonymously, consistently, and when convenient,” says Bob Seemer, President of ets, inc., the developer of both systems and a Brevard County resident. “Regardless of who you are, or where you are economically or in the continuum of life, one or both of these programs can benefit you or someone you know," adds Seemer.
“Given the current economic situation, and future uncertainty on the Space Coast, it was important for us to make the public aware of these innovative services for all of Brevard’s families,” says Marilza Novaes-Card, Chair of the Children's Committee of the Space Coast League of Women Voters.
The event will take place on March 6th, from 10:00 AM to Noon, in the County Commission Chamber of the Government Center, First Floor, Building C, Viera, Florida.
Special guests include Dr. Brian Binggeli, Brevard Public Schools Superintendent, Marilyn “Bunny” Finney, Brevard County Community Alliance, Governor’s Child Abuse Prevention and Permanency Advisory Council, Children’s Services Council of Brevard County and, Brevard County’s Whole Child Sponsor, Joe Steckler, Commander USN, Ret., founder of the Brevard Alzheimer's Foundation, and Brevard County’s Whole Senior Sponsor and Rob Rains, President of United Way of Brevard County, Inc.
